A Yen for Murder A Siamese Sleuth Mystery Book 1 edition by Zoey Kane Claire Kane Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
Reading Deals provided me with this complimentary copy of the book for an honest review. Narrators can be the victim, the perpetrator or an unknown other - the narrator here is a Siamese cat named Charli Chan. When exotic dancers are targeted by a strangler who leaves a yen coin with the bodies Charli "solves" the case. Good, clean fun. People observed from a cat's perspective.
Fun romp with a cute Siamese and Scotty. It was an engaging mystery with Charli Chan the cat as the main sleuth. It kept me interested and good description of the neighborhood from a cats view. The serial killer is tracked down by Charli and her sidekick Malcolm as they travel throughout the neighborhood picking up clues. Would read more books in the Charlie Chan series. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review.
This story is told from the point of view of a siamese cat, Charli Chan. A serial killer is attacking women in the area and Charlie, along with his next door neighbor, Malcom, a scottie dog, sniffs out clues and defends their friends. Charli brings his clues, his treasures, back to his roommate, Harlow who helps interpret them and passes them along to the police (her boyfriend) and helps solve the crime. Charli Chan is very reminiscent of Koko in Lilian Jackson Braun's the Cat Who ...series. I personally felt the epilogue added nothing to the story line and should have been omitted. I received the book for free through Reading Deals, in exchange for an honest review .
Cat & Dog to the Rescue! Fun story (even though it's about a serial killer) told from the point of view of a sassy Siamese cat and her next door neighbor Scottie dog. You need to suspend reality a bit, but after you get past that, the duo's exploits and investigation are fun and quirky. Being a "cat" person, I enjoyed the story and think you will too. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review and hope it's helpful for both the reader and the author.

A Yen for Murder is a well thought out murder mystery from the view point of a cat. Charli Chan, a Siamese cat, learns about a woman who has been strangled. With the natural curiosity of a cat, she follows the clues through her neighborhood. Along the way she makes friends and enemies, but the killer is closer than she thinks.
Yes, this book is well written and the clues were well detailed, but I didn't like this book. I didn't care to know about the intimate details of a cat, the reason why they do what they do.
I wanted to read something light, something relaxing. I found it in A Yen for Murder. I have two Siamese cats so the cover illustration drew me in. And I like murder mysteries. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. It proved to be an excellent choice on my part. The story is told by Charli Chan, a sleek Siamese cat who lives in an apartment house in Santa Monica. Charli can read and understand humans as well as dogs and other cats. When a murder occurs in the neighborhood, Charli is intrigued and starts looking for clues. She brings them to her human. It isn't long before a murder takes place in their apartment building. When a new dog moves in down the hall, Charli enlists his help. There are plenty of suspects with twists and turns sprinkled with humor throughout. I finished the book in two sittings.I hated to put it down. I hope the authors, Zoey and Claire Kane, a mother daughter team, wlll follow up with further adventures of a captivating feline.
I adore this book! I want to live on this street. Charli Chan is a cunning and independent Siamese who lives with her "roommate" human Harlow. They live in an apartment building on a commercial street full of little businesses that Charli visits on her own every day. Everyone knows Charli! The mystery revolves around an unknown serial killer that leaves a fake yen as their calling card. When Charli stumbles upon one of the victims she's determined to solve the mystery. Along the way she enlists the help of her neighbor and new friend the energetic and excitable Scottish Terrier Malcolm, complete with Scottish brogue and all. But, even Charli knows she needs the humans to help too. So she leads Harlow and her new love interest, the detective on the case, in the right direction. Great characters, great world-building, and I had no idea who the suspect really was until the end! I can't wait until the next installment. I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review.
